It is described as "the greatest railway journey in the world" and it is a 84 mile round trip, that takes you from Ben Nevis, the highest mountain of Britain, to Britain's most westerly mainland railway station, Arisaig; passing by the deepest freshwater loch in Britain, Loch Morar and the shortest river in Britain, River Morar, until it arrives to the deepest seawater loch in Europe, Loch Nevis!

The Glenfinnan Viaduct (which the train passes over) famously appears in the Harry Potter films carrying the Hogwarts Express. Also, Loch Shiel and Loch Morar are both featured in the Harry Potter movies as Hogwarts lakes.
