If you love travelling, this "Discover Russia" giclée print from my Bucket List series is for you. Russia is a beautiful place to visit and has an extremely rich history. I love creating digital art and I put lots of love into each illustration. I started doing it this summer. You can see a few other pieces from my Bucket List series on my instagram @designedbytatiana I create all my work using Procreate and this illustration took me 5 hours to make. The print is of very high quality (because it is a giclée print and it has a beautiful lustre shine) For each bucket list destination, I find some legends associated with the place. Here are two legends I loved about Kazan: The most ancient legend says that when choosing a place for the city, the people urned for advice to a sorcerer. The sorcerer said “Build the city where a pot of water, dug into earth, boils.” VFor a very long time, the people wandered, looking for such a place. Finally, close to the Bulak river, the pot boiled by itself. Here people founded the city and gave it name Kazan (“kazan” in Tatar means “pot”). There is another beautiful ancient legend of “Tatar Atlantis”, an underwater city that rests at the bottom of the lake Kaban. When the hordes of Tamerlane conquered the ancient Bulgars, not much could be saved. Fleeing persecution, the Tatar Prince, Kaban, travelled to the north, where he found his refuge among the dense forests on the banks of a large and beautiful lake. People came to him and they settled the region. These new settlers, under the leadership of Prince Kaban, defeated all the dragons and predators around the lake. Soon, a princely palace arose in this place, which was called Bustan. The lake was named after the elders of the settlers – Kaban. But after the conquest of Kazan city, it sank to the bottom of the lake. The locals say that if you swim out into the middle of the lake in very clear weather and look down, you can seebeautiful buildings and hear the call to prayer from the underwater minaret. A new city was built underwater and the old city of Kazan - Tatar Atlantis lives only in legend. I hope you enjoyed these legends as much as I did
